The City of Richmond’s Office of Minority Business Development (OMBD) will host a strategic planning webinar to provide small businesses with direction and helpful tips on how to successfully recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. This change will impact the Fan, Carver, Randolph & South Mulberry Districts As part of the city’s gradual re-opening during the COVID-19 pandemic, on  Monday ,  June 8 the city will resume  Residential Parking Permit District enforcement  in the Fan, Carver, Randolph and South Mulberry Districts.  DPW is  still  ticketing only in safety zones, crosswalks, towing zones, at handicap spaces and fire hydrants, in areas undergoing paving and in ‘No Parking’ areas for sight lines.  Fines and penalties are being waived on tickets received on or after March 16, 2020 as long  as the original ticketed amount is paid by August 31, 2020 . The total amount due on tickets overdue as of March 16, 2020 will be frozen and not accrue additional fines and penalties if paid in full by  August 31, 2020 .  DMV related hold fees are not included in the amnesty program.  For additional information, please call 3-1-1. Las oficinas e instalaciones del gobierno de la Ciudad de Richmond entrarán a la Fase 1 del plan de operaciones de la ciudad.   Los empleados de la Ciudad de Richmond han estado trabajando durante el Estado de Emergencia, brindando servicios esenciales a los habitantes y a los comerciantes de la ciudad, a pesar de la crisis de salud pública. La Fase 1 implica la entrada en funcionamiento de servicios  limitados  en persona en instalaciones clave de la ciudad. La administración sigue urgiendo a los residentes de la ciudad para que sigan utilizando los servicios que están disponibles por Internet. Stoney to establish crisis alert, Citizen Review Board, introduce ordinance to remove Confederate monuments, and implement racial equity study On Tuesday, June 2, Mayor Levar Stoney met with hundreds of protestors outside of City Hall to apologize for the Richmond Police Department’s (RPD) use of tear gas on a peaceful gathering around the Lee Monument the evening before. On Sunday, accompanied by members of Richmond City Council, Mayor Stoney announced that Governor Northam has granted his request to impose a curfew in the City of Richmond in response to two nights of protests throughout the city.  The mayor also noted that the governor has indicated the Virginia National Guard is available to the city if required.  “The past two nights, we’ve seen what could have been peaceful protests turn violent and destructive,” said Mayor Stoney. “We’re taking these steps to promote lawful and safe demonstration and protect both people and property.” The curfew will take effect May 31, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. and last until 6:00 a.m. The curfew will be in effect nightly until further notice.   When the curfew is in place, people are be instructed not to occupy public space within city limits between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Details will be finalized by the Office of the Governor as the authority imposing the order.  ##
