Parks and Recreation to Close Buildings to the Public amid COVID-19

City and department staff have been monitoring the national situation and meeting regularly to determine the best way we can support the goal of slowing the community spread of the virus. In the interest of public health and in an abundance of caution, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities (PRCF) is closing all community centers and administrative offices to the public beginning on Saturday, March 14, 2020 until at least Monday, March 30, 2020.

In consideration of recent developments, the department is taking the following measures through Monday, March 30:
·        Cancellation of all special events, programs, and permits at any department owned facilities. We will evaluate holding these events/programs and provide an update as soon as possible.
·        Burials at city owned cemeteries will take place as scheduled.
·        No permit requests for department owned facilities will be granted.

Staff at PRCF’s Administrative Office will be available to assist residents via phone at 804-646-5733 or email at AskParkRec@richmondgov.com . Staff from the Cemeteries Division can be reached at 804-646-1402.
